Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony Parade Segment 2010

Dear Sec 2 & 3 Cadets,

Together with the other 8 uniformed groups, NPCC will be forming 2 Guard-of-Honour Contingents and 1 supporting contingent. As this is a massive and virant combined youth event that will see the collaboration and participation of youths from the other 8 uniformed groups, it will be a great opportunity for our NPCC cadets to be part of this parade.

Breakdown of Contingents
GOH Contingent 1 (Boys) - 50 + 10 reserves
GOH Contingent 2 (Girls) - 50 + 10 reserves
Supporting Contingent (Mixed) - 30 + 6 reserves

Rehearsals: There will be a total of 15 sessions (including preview & actual day).

Please see breakdown of training.
- GOH only rehearsals - 5 sessions
- Rehearsals for all - 4 sessions On-Site
- Rehearsals - 4 sessions + 1 preview + 1 actual

Most training sessions have been scheduled on Wed & Fri. Based on the proposed schedule, the first training session for NPCC cadets will start on Friday 14 May. As majority of the trainings will take place during the school holidays, cadets must ensure that they are not travelling overseas during that period of time.

All participants will need to report to HTA on their own. For the trainings at Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS), transport will be provided from HTA to SIS. Nearer the date, a letter from CCAB will be sent to inform schools to release the cadets for the rehearsals during the first week of Term 3 for the on site rehearsals.

To be nominated, the requirements are:-
1. All nominated cadets must meet the height requirement of between 1.60m to 1.70m.
2. GOH Contingents - Sec 3 cadets only - Min Rank of Corporal (SGT preferred) - Considerably good drill proficiency
3. Supporting Contingent - Sec 2 / Sec 3 cadets - Min Rank of Lance Corporal

We can nominate up to 2 cadets per unit (one cadet + one reserve cadet)

Interested cadets, pls see me by this Friday, 30 May 2010.

Thanks.

Mr Koh
